Join JFAbraham as he performs his eagerly anticipated solo album “A Different Kind of Light”, for the first time, and with an 11-piece band.
Based in South London, multi-instrumentalist JFAbraham has toured and recorded extensively with Public Service Broadcasting. Playing shows and festivals all around the world he has also contributed orchestrations for the bands’ performances at the BBC Proms as well as arranging for multiple groups and artists such as Bastille, BBC Concert Orchestra, Jessie Ware and Liam Gallagher.
When live performances came to a halt in 2020 JFA began working alone in his parents’ basement on what was to become his first solo record in 10 years. As restrictions lifted he travelled to Pembrokeshire, West Wales with James Nall (drums and percussion) and James Campbell (engineer and mixer) where they met Owain Fleetwood-Jenkins (Studiowz) and began to lay the foundations for the eleven songs on the album.
Musically rich and multi-layered, the record features the talents of many of London’s top musicians; friends who contributed performances that help make the record what it is. String, wind and brass arrangements accompany songs that explore themes of grief, identity, growth and ultimately acceptance as the perspective shifts from loss to one of hope.
From a collective of almost thirty artists, the record has been arranged for it’s first live performance and will feature:
Stephanie Bissell – clarinet
Emma Burgess – clarinet and bass clarinet
Ciara Ismail – violin
Rich LeGate – guitars
Chrissie Myles – vocals
James Nall – drums and percussion
Jim O’Doherty – bass and synth
Barnaby Philpott – trombone
Toby Street – trumpet
Lara Verney – keys, vocals and cello
Doors open: 7pm
